Got to photograph a colonial-themed black tie event in Salem on Saturday night. Rather than find a dress, I decided to go more “footman who helps ladies out of carriages when they arrive.” But purple. Built a ‘do out of extensions and my own hair. The look fortunately came together. It was fun to do grownup things for a night 💜

So begins another art prompt challenge. 🎨
Week 1: Rest and Prep

2024 was not a year of accomplishments. It was a year of holding on for dear life, both physically and mentally. I kept wanting to do a round-up of memories of animals, art, etc, but I just could muster any enthusiasm for just…surviving. Yeah I know I know those memes that everyone shares “it’s okay if all you did was survive this year,” but I just didn’t feel that way.

But as I went through my photos, I kept coming across pics of those who, over this past year, willingly chose to drive their own rickety crafts INTO my shitstorm, risked sinking their own ships, and threw me lifelines. So I decided to try making a collage of selfies with some of those people. My people.

… Okay two of these are musicians (with whom I have no personal relationship) that I was fortunate to meet before a concert…and one is Glen Powell in a wet t-shirt BUT SUPPORT COMES IN MANY FORMS. DO NOT SHAME ME.

(Also this compilation is NOT inclusive of ALL the people who supported me this past year… And now I know who I have to hunt down for unhinged selfies in 2025. That’s a good resolution.)

The thing I love about all these pics is my smile. I don’t see it enough. But these people brought it out of me consistently. (Except my dumb brother, who I am legally obligated NOT to smile around, and it doesn’t matter because he’s not on social media really anywho so ptth).

I’m lucky. 2024 showed me I’ve got some amazing ride-or-dies, and I never ever want to take that for granted. ❤️🐙🤟🏻💫

StreamINK 2024 in the books ❤️ Which day is your favorite? I had so much fun with these prompts, and really tried to vary the style and tone of all of them. But there are always familiar themes, even if I don’t intend them.

It’s always hard to say goodbye to October, but putting this together was cathartic. Apologies for the speediness of the reel… it’s hard to fit 31 days of art into 90 seconds :) And I really wanted to include a handful of timelapses.
